Joint Sprains and Muscular Strains

We gradually develop muscle and joint problems as a result of poor working postures, lifestyles, or previous injuries.

There is always a reason why muscular and joint pain develops. A well taken history and an examination will reveal how and why the problem started. I can then advise you on how to stay better.

The most common reasons are:

  • Inactivity – due to illness or work / home commitments
  • Posture – poor working posture increases the strain on whole body
  • Fitness – a loss of fitness, but you are doing the same things
  • Sport – playing too often or not training enough
  • Injury – a poorly rehabilitated previous injury, or I ‘rested’ the injury
  • Combination of all of the above

Common complaints seen are:

  • Frozen shoulders
  • Repeated neck and back pain that will not go away
  • Headaches, sometimes leading to migraine
  • Tight and stiff hip muscles
  • Sore and stiff ankles
  • Painful big toe
  • Plantar fasciitis (policeman’s heel)
